Web Terms

Domain Name (Back to Hosting Plans) Domain Name is your www.yourcompany.com.  The fees for your domain are not refundable and are paid annually.

Traffic/Month (Back to Hosting Plans)
When someone surfing the web arrives at your site, the pictures need to be downloaded onto their computer so they can view them. Even if your site doesn’t feature any files to download, you still have downloading traffic. For approximately every 85,000 hits, 1 gig of transfer is allowed. Depending on how many pictures and files you have on your site, you may use more than a gig for that many hits.

Disk Space (Back to Hosting Plans)
This is the amount of space allocated to your account. Each 100 megabytes represents approximately 5000 files. Additional disk space is available, or you can switch your account type to one with more disk space.

POP Email (Back to Hosting Plans)
POP email is a private secure storage location for your email that has to be accessed through a third party email program such as Eudora or Outlook.

FTP (Back to Hosting Plans)
FTP (File Transfer Protocol) is the procedure used when you transfer your files from your PC to our web server. This is necessary for your files to be available on the Internet for everyone to see.

FrontPage® 2002 (Back to Hosting Plans)
The Microsoft® FrontPage® 2002 website creation and management tool gives users everything they need to easily create and manage great websites. Versions of FrontPage® 2002 or older are compatible with our servers. You are required to own and install the FrontPage® 2002 software or older version on your home system.

Anonymous FTP (Back to Hosting Plans)
Anonymous FTP is a method for giving users access to files so that they don't need to identify themselves to the server. This means that users can access to a restricted area of your website without us knowing any information about them, and you have control over the content that they can see.

Webalizer  (Back to Hosting Plans) The Webalizer is a fast web server log file analysis program. It produces highly detailed, easy-to-configure usage reports in HTML format. For viewing with a standard web browser.

Email Aliases (Back to Hosting Plans) (Jump To Top)
Aliases are shortcuts used to redirect email messages. You can set up shortcuts for an individual user name or activate a catchall alias that can capture any email sent to your domain. This means that as long as the yourdomain.com is correct, even typos in the user name will still be captured and not refused.

Web Based Email  (Back to Hosting Plans)  Any web-based email can easily be read from any computer with Internet access and a web browser. Neomail has a friendly, attractive, easy-to-use, icon-based user interface.

Email Redirects (Back to Hosting Plans)
The WebControl System enables you to redirect your email aliases to any POP box you want, giving you access to your email from anywhere in the world. If you want, your email, joe@yourdomain.com, can be redirected to joe@aol.com, if that is your ISP that you typically use to view email. You can also provide friends similar aliases at your domain that they can access through their ISP.

Support Center (Back to Hosting Plans)
Our online Support Center provides more than just a fast personal response from one of our trained technicians. All submissions are tracked and monitored by our Quality Assurance team. Users have access to a searchable database of calls, which may be modified at any time or even escalated to the attention of a QA team member. The interface also provides easy access to server upgrade information.

Telephone Support (Back to Hosting Plans) (Jump To Top)
Our Office is open for support Monday - Friday 10:00am - 7:00pm Eastern Standard time and Saturday 9:00am - 5:00pm Eastern Standard time except Holidays
